First Thessaloniansa
1
Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God {the}b Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:c Grace to you and peace [[from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ]].d2 We always give thanks to God for all [of you],e making remembrance [[of you]]f in our prayers [[unceasingly]],g 3 remembering your work of faith and labor of love and endurance [[of hope]]h in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father, 4 knowing, beloved brothers, loved by God, your election, 5 for our gospel [[of God]]i did not come to you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, and [with]j much assurance, just as you know what kind of men we became [among]k you for your sake.
6 And you became imitators of us and of {the Lord},l receiving the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit, 7 so that you became an example referring to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 8 [For the word of {the Lord}m has sounded forth from you, not [only]n in Macedonia and Achaia,]o but in every place your faith toward God has gone out, so that we have no need to say anything.
