In many partsb and in many ways, God long ago spoke to {the}c fathers through the prophets.2 In these last days, he has spoken to us in a son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom [also]d he made the ages; 3 who, being the radiancee of glory and the exact representationf of his essence,g upholding all things by the word of [his]h power, having made purification for [[our]]i sins [[through himself]],j he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, 4 having become as much superior to [the]k angels, as he has inherited a name more distinguished than theirs.
5 For to which of the angels did he ever say, “You are my Son, today I have begotten you”?l
And again, “I will be a Father to him, and he will be a Son to me”?m
6 And when he again brings the firstborn into the world, he says, “And let all the angels of God worship him.”n
7 And of the angels he says, “He makes his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.”o
8 But of the Son, “Your throne, O God,p is forever [and ever];q [and]r the scepter of uprightness is the scepter of {your}s kingdom. 9 You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, your God, has anointedt you with the oil of gladness beyond your companions.”u
10 And, “You, Lord, laid the foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands; 11 they will perish, but you remain; and they will all grow old like a garment, 12 and like a garment you will roll them up, and [[like a garment]]v they will be changed; but you are the same, and your years will never end.”w
13 And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?x
14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
